Rear courtyard
Enclosed and air-conditioned, with TV and speakers. A private space suited to birthdays, engagements and celebrations. Private to your group; on Friday and Saturday, book it with a drinks package for 20 or more, or reserve it for $10pp without one.
Up to 50 guests, seated and standing
Beer garden
A larger undercover outdoor space with heating and plenty of room for bigger groups. Exclusive on Friday and Saturday with a drinks package for 20 or more, or $10pp without one. Smaller groups can ask about a non-exclusive booking.
Up to 30 guests, seated and standing
Front deck
Our street-front space overlooking William Street. Great for casual drinks and smaller celebrations. Exclusive on Friday and Saturday with a drinks package for 20 or more, or $10pp without one. Smaller groups can ask about a non-exclusive booking.
4 to 10 guests, seated
Main bar booths
Semi-private booths in the main bar for smaller groups, dinners and catch-ups. Any night, no package needed.

Drinks packages
Three packages, each covering two hours, minimum 20 guests. Add spirits to Classic for +$15pp; extra hours with spirits are $20pp. What's pouring changes with the season, so ask us for this month's drinks list.

Yes. Celebration cakes are the one food you can bring. Drop it off on the day and we'll provide plates and cutlery, but our fridge space is limited.
As a fully licensed venue we can't permit BYO alcohol, and food is supplied by 399 Bar, apart from celebration cakes. We're happy to take specific drink requests with notice.
Yes, for exclusively booked spaces, the private courtyard or full venue hire. All entertainment needs pre-approval from our functions team.
We don't. There's no deposit and no card details needed to hold your booking. Pre-ordered food is invoiced separately and paid in full 72 hours before your function.

Yes. Bring the dog. Genuinely.
Yes. Table decorations, welcome signs, small florals and cakes are all welcome. No confetti, glitter, confetti-filled balloons, open flames, or anything fixed to walls or ceilings. Decorations need to arrive on the day and leave with you at the end.
Function bookings are automatically scheduled for 2 hours. If you would like to reserve a space for longer, please ask.
Some spaces are semi-private. 399 Bar stays open to the public unless you've booked an exclusive space or the full venue, and we'll confirm the level of privacy before we lock in your booking. For all spaces, drinks are ordered at the main bar.
No charge with 72 hours' notice or more. With less notice, or a no-show, a cancellation fee of $15 per person may apply. Pre-ordered food is invoiced separately.

When you book, you agree to these terms. – Final guest numbers, dietary requirements and full payment for food are due 72 hours before your function. Less than 72 hours, or a no-show: a cancellation fee of $15 per person may apply. Pre-ordered food is invoiced separately. – Notice runs from when your email reaches info@399bar.com to your booking start time. – Function bookings are scheduled for 2 hours; ask if you would like the space for longer. For all spaces, drinks are ordered at the main bar. – Peak dates. Friday and Saturday dates can book out 6 to 8 weeks ahead, so book early.
